Beauty Therapists are specialists in therapeutic facial and body care, possessing a strong knowledge of key body systems, skin biology, anatomy, and cosmetic chemistry. They use this expertise to offer a variety of non-medical face, body, and relaxation treatments tailored to a client’s needs, as well as recommend suitable products and after-care. While Beauty Therapists may perform treatments to address specific skin conditions like acne or eczema, they are not qualified to diagnose these conditions.
Beauty Therapists work with a range of equipment and products, such as microdermabrasion or hot wax, and must be properly trained in their safe and correct use. Some Beauty Therapists may choose to specialize in specific areas, such as spa therapy or permanent hair removal.
