Solid Plasterer is listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
Solid plasterers are skilled in applying decorative finishes to both internal and external walls using render or plaster, depending on the project. They also perform essential “finishing work” during the final stages of construction, including preparing and cleaning walls for painting, smoothing ceilings and walls, ensuring straight and smooth angles on walls, and creating custom build-outs and cavities.
Graduates will become qualified tradespeople in the plastering industry. Throughout the course, they will acquire skills such as:
Accepted tests include IELTS, PTE, and similar assessments. For IELTS, a minimum overall score of 6.0 with no individual band lower than 5.5 is required, and the test results must be valid within 2 years at the time of the visa application. Some educational institutions offer an in-house English Placement Test to meet the entry requirements.
Exemptions apply if:
– The applicant holds a passport from the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, or the Republic of Ireland.
– The applicant is enrolled in a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course delivered in a language other than English, or a registered postgraduate research program.
– The applicant has completed at least 5 years of study in English in any of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
